Medical and Nursing Student Volunteer

Healthcare volunteer work is a medical and healthcare volunteering opportunity abroad that aims at saving lives. Our healthcare volunteer work has become very necessary for medical student volunteers to help augment the challenge of manpower at our community clinics and hospitals.
This is as a result of lack of health personnel to attend to the daily health needs of the rural folks in the community hospitals. The situation raises so much alarm and needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency.


There is placement for medical doctors, midwives, nurses, medical student volunteers and other allied health personnel to volunteer on Medicine & healthcare programs to complement healthcare work in government clinics and hospitals through our healthcare volunteer work.

  • Hlefi community clinic
  • Kpedze clinic

Location:

Suburb of Ho, Volta Region.


Requirements/Skills

Knowledge on health care and Medical services.


Program start date:

Available year round


Program Duration:

Minimum: 2 weeks
Maximum: 12 months


Working Hours:

Monday- Friday (8hrs each day.)


Your Role:

It includes issuing of cards, pediatrics cases and assisting matrons, ward in charge with activities in the volunteer's area of specializations.(Departments)

What kind of health services will i be delivering?

Pediatrics cases and volunteer's area of specializations.

Will i be allowed to administer medications and injections?

Yes but must be done in full consultations with the matrons and ward in charges

Who owns the hospitals/clinics?

These are pure government hospitals which provide services to patients in interest of the nation.

What equipment will i be using?

volunteers will be oriented on the available equipment to use on first day at the hospital, however most equipment are not quite different from what you are used to.

Can i carry any equipment along?

Yes, volunteers are permitted to carry any medical equipment as a relieve package for the hospitals/ clinic since they are under equipped
